In 1965, Arnaldo Serafini bought La Baita from the Madonna di Campiglio Alpine Guides; until the summer of 1969 it was run by Arnaldo, Annalise and grandparents Tullio and Bianca. On the 1st of September 1969, after the grandfather's death, it was rented out to Elio Fedrizzi for about ten years. Meanwhile Arnaldo and Annalise took over the management of the Stoppani Refuge at Grostè, and towards the end of the seventies work began on La Baita, which went from being the Alpine Guides' headquarters to a bar and, eventually, a hotel. It opened on the 20th of December 1984! For more than thirty years we have carried on this business with passion and dedication, passing down from generation to generation what, for us, is Trentino hospitality.
In the autumn of 2014 the hotel's bar was renovated and named "El Volt dela Baita"; from the following winter season El Volt opened to the public, becoming a gathering place where guests can spend time together enjoying local produce. In spring 2015, in keeping with the bar's new look, the lobby and dining room were also renovated, and three new rooms were created to meet our guests' needs.
